Volunteers do not necessarily
have the time, they just have the heart.

Volunteers, along with our donors, are the life blood
of our organization. The meals-on-wheels program could
not survive if it were not for our 600- plus wonderful
volunteers who deliver meals one day a week to approximately
four to eight elderly and homebound individuals. Ask any
volunteer and they will tell you it is a very rewarding
experience for them, as well as a much appreciated service
for the recipients.
The demand for home delivered meals is growing, as is
the need for volunteers. Since we deliver to so many areas
in Monmouth County, we have a need for volunteers from
all areas as well. In most cases, our delivery routes
take about one hour to complete. We need volunteers with
vehicles who can deliver meals one day a week or every
day, whatever works for you! We also need volunteers who
are available to fill in as substitutes when needed. We
realize that volunteers take vacations and have unforeseen
situations come up on occasion – and that is why
we recruit substitutes. If you are concerned about finding
the location to make your delivery, we have state-of-the-art
computer printed maps to take you directly to your destination.
Don’t let anything be a deterrent to becoming a
volunteer. We promise you a most joyous and fulfilling
experience!
