In January of 2018, Interfaith Neighbors completed construction of the first of two homes on the westside of Asbury Park as part of a transformative partnership with Covenant House NJ. The first home, provides housing for five young men, who otherwise would be homeless. Just over a year and a half later, a second home was completed housing five young women.

While Interfaith Neighbors built and owns the two homes, Covenant House NJ leases the homes and operates their signature program targeting homeless young adults. The Rights of Passage program provides a transitional home for youth ages 18-21 with a supportive living and learning environment. Rights of Passage offers temporary housing for up to 18 months, where residents are responsible for buying and preparing meals, saving money, and learning skills that help in preparation for apartment living on their own.

Covenant House NJ operates this program to help young people in the process of gaining independent and secure housing. Participants participate in weekly success planning meetings and have access to 24/7 staff. Rights of Passage is intended to address homelessness experienced by young adults.
