Kula After School – Earth Day Awareness: Oil Spills (postponed)

Join us anytime between 3:30 and 5pm.

This weeks topic: Earth Day Awareness: Oil Spills.

We have all heard about the news on oil spills and the devastating effects of this on
our planet Earth, and the marine life it supports. But we, who do not get to witness
these effects on a first hand basis, do not understand the degree of impact of such
incidents. In this class, we will be mimicking an oil spill to demonstrate the impact
these disasters can have on our ocean life.

Kula After School is an afterschool program that provides local teenagers with a fun STEM-based educational experience in a positive and inspirational setting.

Ages 12-16

The program is lead by Mrs. Natalie, who is a science teacher at Asbury Park High School and is currently seeking a Master’s Degree in plant Biology at Rutgers University. Natalie is a gardener herself, and takes a strong interest in small space growing, herbal plant care, and heirloom gardening.
