Peter Cancro, Founder & CEO

Jersey Mike’s Subs

One of the secrets to Peter’s success is his philosophy of “giving.” Charities, hospitals, school systems and numerous individuals have benefited from his support, more than ever will be known. It’s a philosophy that he has emphasized to each and every Jersey Mike’s franchise owner: support the community that supports you.

Peter has been a generous supporter of Interfaith Neighbors for the past 25 years. Most recently, he led Interfaith Neighbors’ first-ever capital campaign. Through his personal philanthropy and leadership, we project Interfaith Neighbors will complete the campaign on time and ahead of budget. A man of character and conviction, Interfaith Neighbors is proud to recognize Peter with our Outstanding Citizen Award.

Rabbi Sally J. Priesand

President, Interfaith Neighbors Board of Trustees

America’s first female rabbi, Rabbi Sally J. Priesand, celebrated fifty years in the rabbinate in June 2022. She spent 35 of those years on the Board of Trustees at Interfaith Neighbors, most of them as President of the Board.

Rabbi Priesand is committed to the cause of justice and peace, to equal opportunity for women, to the needs of the hungry and the homeless, and to the survival of Israel. She has demonstrated her commitment to these causes through her service to many organizations and through her religious positions over the years.

Upon being ordained in June 1972, Rabbi Priesand served at the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue in NYC. In 1981, she relocated to the Monmouth County area where she began her service as the Rabbi of Monmouth Reform Temple until her retirement in 2006 when she became Rabbi Emerita. Her awards and recognitions are too many to mention, but Interfaith Neighbors is grateful for the opportunity to add to those accolades with our Distinguished Service Award.
