In this science-based approach to breathwork, you’ll learn how to stay connected to your breath and manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm with short and simple breathing techniques. By the end of this class, you will understand why, when and how to balance your nervous system with four different breathwork practices that stimulate energy, balance and relaxation– all in 4 min or less.
This workshop covers the basic science of breathing, the 5 “building blocks” of breathwork techniques, and the nervous-system anatomy of 4 simple and effective breathing practices: Ocean’s Breath (Ujjayi), Breath of Fire (Kapalabhati), 4:4 Balanced Diaphragmatic Breathing, and 4:8 Relaxation Diaphragmatic Breathing.
This Level 1 workshop is safe and effective for all breathing experience levels, including new students. This science-based style of breathwork is rooted in traditional yoga breathing with a focus on training you to start a daily at-home routine. It is NOT a long-form breathwork class to facilitate trauma release. Our goal is to empower you with the tools needed to become your own breathwork teacher, rather than rely on any specific class or guided meditation app.
Christine is a Certified YogaBody Breath Coach, MindUP Workshop Facilitator and Holistic Leadership Coach. She is enamored with the intersection between science and spirituality and has been teaching the neuroscience of mindfulness since 2012. She believes that regulating your nervous system to feel safe is the key to being loving, kind and authentic– to ourselves and others.
