Youth Gardening Class: Winter Garden

Did you know that you can still garden in winter? Our Tuesday class will talk about how to start a winter garden so you can have fresh veggies and herbs all year round! We will talk about how the weather changes in winter, what you can do to protect your plants from the cold, and what herbs and veggies thrive in a cold climate. Come out and garden with us!

Natalie Hayes is a science teacher at Asbury Park High School. She is currently seeking a master’s degree in plant Biology at Rutgers University and has worked with the Monmouth Conservation Foundation to bring more environmental education to Asbury Park. Natalie is a gardener herself, and takes a strong interest in small space growing, herbal plant care, and heirloom gardening.
